Another Reason to Hate the Law Library...

Those who know me know that I avoid the library like the plague during finals. It's too quiet, people are on edge (I've gotten yelled at before by somebody there), and they don't let me have music.

Well, here is another reason why I should avoid going to the library: to not get shot. This is a security bulletin sent by my school to students.

DATE AND TIME
OF OCCURRENCE: Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at approximately 12:13 A.M.

LOCATION: Off-Campus at Seventh Street and Westmoreland Avenue

DESCRIPTION: A suspected drunken driver was stopped by California Highway Patrol Officer after failing to stop for a traffic violation. The suspect exited his vehicle and pulled out a handgun according to CHP officers. The officers fired on the suspect in self defense. The suspect succumbed to his injuries. The passenger riding in the suspect’s car was arrested.

LAPD officers responded to the scene.

Southwestern Campus Security advised students of the incident and directed them to a safe exit route. No Southwestern students were involved in the incident.

LAPD and CHP are continuing their investigations into the matter and Southwestern Campus Security officers are assisting in the investigation.
